ENTRIES OPEN FOR BAFTA YUGO STUDENT AWARDS

The Yugo BAFTA Student Awards is an annual event celebrating the works of the next generation of talented and innovative storytellers from around the globe.

BAFTA is now accepting Film, Games, and Immersive submissions for the 2023 Yugo BAFTA Student Awards. The Yugo BAFTA Student Awards is an annual event celebrating the works of the next generation of talented and innovative storytellers from around the globe.

Submissions are now open for the 2023 Yugo BAFTA Student Awards. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 21 at 11:30pm BST / 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT.

1. HollyShorts Film Festival : April 7

HollyShorts is an organization devoted to showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe, advancing the careers of filmmakers through screenings, networking events, and various panel and forums. The Academy Qualifying HollyShorts Film festival showcases the top short films produced 40- minutes or less.

2. LA Shorts International Film Festival  : April 7

LA Shorts International Film Festival ranks among the most prestigious and largest international short film festivals in the world. 

The festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences OSCAR®, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts BAFTA and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) presenters of the Canadian Screen Awards and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain (Goya Awards).

65 LA Shorts filmmakers have earned Academy Award® nominations.

We are extremely proud to have screened 4 films from the 2022 OSCAR® nominees. 

3. Bend Film Festival : April 7

The Academy qualifying 20th annual BendFilm Festival is confirmed to take place October 12th-15th in-person, and virtually October 16th-22nd, 2023! With consideration to current and potential COVID 19 protocols, guidelines and limitations, the 2023 Festival may be a hybrid of virtual and in-person screenings and events. 

4. San Diego International Film Festival : April 7

The 22nd Annual San Diego International Film Festival (October 18-22) will present over 100 independent films plus studio premieres along with high profile events and panels. This Festival has been named San Diego’s Best Film Festival for the past 6 years and is continuing to grow its influence as an important stop on the awards circuit due to its October timing and its proximity to Hollywood. 

5. London Short Film Festival : April 7

The 21st London Short Film Festival will be held in January 2024.

LSFF exists to spotlight a multiplicity of filmmakers, visual artists and creatives, across intersections and with a commitment to peripheral voices. 

Each January, the festival hosts ten days of short form, conversation and multidisciplinary curation. We present up to 500 British and international films, collaboratively selected from 5000+ open submissions, alongside Special Events and an industry programme of workshops, panels and discussion for filmmakers and cinema workers.
