LCC Postgraduate Shows – MA Television
As the LCC Postgraduate Shows are around the corner, we thought of doing a round-up and giving a glimpse at some of the MA Television productions this year.
The MA Television course is headed by Susan Shaw. To give a taster of the varied productions this year, here is a Showreel of all the films.
1. 99 Red Balloons

Ran, a female artist from China, has started an art project about red balloons in London, where she invites strangers to write their stories and wishes on the red balloons and pass them on to the next person.

2. Making it

Making It is a documentary about the story of four generations of one Windrush family of tailors, and the family has been part of a transformational Caribbean contribution to British fashion and music.

3. Azaadi

This documentary Azaadi tells the story of two Muslim girls with football dreams, who through their perseverance and courage, learn how to balance their belief and life in sports and move closer to their ideal lives.

4. Fashion Goes Wild

FASHION GOES WILD is about a group of young women living in London who decide to take on a bold challenge: using completely eco-friendly materials, creating fashion clothes to express themselves, the runway being an unexpected place.
It is a fashion reality TV show, focusing on the views of women in the UK and discussing the various forms of fashion in life.

5. Yellow Fever

Yellow Fever is an investigative documentary that uses participants’ first-hand tales of emotional abuse and pain in their interactions with racial obsessions to show viewers how the phenomena of Yellow Fever/Asian Fetish occur in contemporary culture.

6. Maria’s Farm

Maria’s Farm is a documentary telling the story of a hobby farm struggling to survive in the context of the economic crisis and the Covid-19.At the same time, the relationship between Maria Ian and the two children is constantly changing.

7. Hostage Diplomacy

“Hostage Diplomacy” is the story of Anoosheh AshoorI A British Iranian dual National who encounters problems on a trip to Iran and subsequently gets arrested and imprisoned for 5 and a half years. The story is a human story about his and his family’s struggles during this time and the diplomacy that played a part in his arrest and eventual release from prison. There are also interviews with other detainees, legal experts, and various new reports that help shape the story.

8. No Way Back

The war that Russia started aiming to destroy Ukrainians is still ongoing. How do young people of each country manage living in the new reality and is there any way back home for them?
